Updates and comments:

There was a times when I never thought I would be able to put two words together that made sense and I am still learning how to arrange my words understandably. But the thoughts that you will be reading come from my deepest heart. Sometimes I can't write at all, but than all of a sudden I get an inspiration for something and I have to write it out than and there or else I forget it.

I am not a professional nor wish to be, what you read here is just thoughts of mine that often go around in my mind and are slowly coming out on paper. :)

I just finished studying the book of Ephesians so the next few posts will have alot from there in them.

In this journal/blog I am focusing on the Calling of Christ and our response and the work we have to do on this earth for Christ.

I am considering moving to a actual blog which may take place sometime in the near future, I am still thinking about it and wheither I am ready. But by God's grace everything will be in His time.

Thanks for reading and please comment! :)

In the Service of God....

He is no fool who gives what he cannot keep to gain what he cannot lose. -Jim Elliot

When we surrender our lives completely to God, He takes what we cannot keep and gives us what we cannot lose. We cannot keep our life here on earth. Sooner or later it will be taken from us. But God never takes something from us unless He will give us something better. But for us to receive that better and higher thing we must yield every aspect of our lives to Him so that He can fit us for that better thing. We must remember continually what we are here for...
That our purpose in life is to serve God and be sons and daughters of Him. For it is Him in us that makes a salt and light in this dark world. Jim Elliot gave his life for the sake of the Gospel along with four others. And as a result of their deaths hundreds if not thousands came to know God. And so it is true that unless a corn of wheat dies in abideth along, but if it dies it brings forth much fruit, and great is our reward in heaven(John 12:24). It is not always easy to give up our lives and everthing we hold dear, to God. We want to hold on. But when we do gie up He gives more and even better than we could have every imagined. I am still learning in this aspect too. But if we remember Jim Elliot's quote and follow its advice we will be greatly blessed... " He is no fool who gives what he cannot keep to gain what he cannot lose." - Jim Elliot

Their is a field without seed,
Life raised through death is life indeed.
The smallest, lowliest flower
A secret is, of mighty power.
To die - it lives - buried to rise -
Abundant life through sacrfice.
Wouldst though know sacrifice?
It is through loss;
Thou canst not save but by the Cross,
A corn of wheat except it die,
Can never, never multiply.
The glorious fields of waving gold,
Through death are life a hundredfold.
Thou who for souls dost weep and pray,
Let not hell's legions thee dismay.
This is the way of ways for thee,
The way of certain victory.
-The Soul Winners Secret

Life: Needs a purpose...

Don't waste today, tomorrow may never come. A while ago when I wrote this article a series of circumstances such as sudden deaths of youth, or reading articles or stories along that line, also reading the book "Don't Waste Your Life" by John Piper, has made me seriously think about the frailty of life and how suddenly it can be taken from us.

The need to live each day as though it is our last, to treasure each moment, to live and act so that if we were suddenly called then it would not be something to fear. We never know when our time may come to be called from this earth. Let us not waste a single moment. Oh, that we would live each hour, each day, so that at the end, we will not say, "I have wasted my life!"
Life is so very short, it is to short to waste time wasting it. While we are here on earth we need to "be an example of the believers..." and "let no man despise your youth.." [1 Timothy 4:12]

I have to keep working on not wasting my time but usefully using my time to glorify God. I/we only have a short time to share with others the love of God. To let them know that that there is something to look forward to - life after death - eternity - with God. And we only have a few hours before sunset to prepare for that. The choices we make now with effect our destiny.

I long to share and reach out and touch those around me that I see suffering, longing for something better, but blind to the love of God. To share with them how much God loves them and the frailty of life, yet the everlasting God who cares for them.

We must never think that, "Oh, I have lots of time yet, I am only young" for we never know what the morrow may bring forth. "Yesterday is gone, tomorrow may never come, but I have today." Today to live my life for His Glory. My decisions today will affect my tomorrow.

Choose ye this day whom ye will serve....[Joshua 24:15]

Remember I am learning with you! :)

Riches: What Kind?

A while ago I was reminded of how much we need God. When we try to run our own lives it only results in misery. We need God to fill the place in our hearts that none other can fill.
What brought this to mind was the news of the death of one of the richest men in our community who took his own life because he felt that life wasn't worth living anymore. Wealth did not make him happy, instead he was miserable and depressed. What he needed the most was not wealth and riches and more and more land,...it was God, that is what he needed most of all.

Don't complain that you don't have as much money as Joe Blow down the road. You just might be richer than him in the long run. The riches of knowing Christ and communing with with him and having a place in heaven is a great deal better and of alot more worth than all the money in the world.

Remember that the Bible says to "...lay up treasures in heaven" for they are our lasting treasures. The "treasures" we have here on earth will be destroyed, they don't last, anything can take them, but what we have in heaven last eternally. If when the "treasures" we have here on earth and also our own lives are taken from us, what will we do if we have nothing laid up in heaven? I pray that none of us will reach that day. Let us all except the greatest riches that can be had: The joy of the salvation of the Lord, and the lasting assurance that one day we will be able to see our Lord face to face. Oh, what a glorious day that will be.

Remember: Jesus loves you and he is holding out to you the greatest riches you could ever have. If you have not yet excepted Him, I pray you will do so now. You will never regret it.
If you have, than may God bless you richly with His abounding love and grace.

God bless You! :)

Dare...

This song has been going around in my head and I thought I would share the chorus here:

Dare to be a Daniel, Dare to stand alone, Dare to have a purpose firm, Dare to make it known!

Now a days hardly anybody has the courage to be a different, and it is a time when we as Christians have to stand out and be different. I can't stand it when you can walk past someone on the street and not know they are a Christian. But when I see someone like-minded, we always exchange a smile. True Christians recognize each other. :)

To the old rugged cross I will ever be true.....
